Bourbon Buck

Descendent of the Mamie Taylor and predecessor of the Moscow Mule, the Buck was all the fad of the 1920s and 1930s. Ginger Ale was the number one drink in America in the 1860s and maintained that top position for over 70 years. Cocktails with ginger ale were quite popular throughout that time, but the Buck as it is known today did not develop entirely until sometime in the early 20th century.


2 oz bourbon
0.75 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
ginger beer
Garnish: lime wheel
Prep: Shake everything except the ginger beer over ice.
