The origins of this cocktail are unknown. We do have an account that in 1918 to combat Spanish Flu, a mixture of garlic, lime, and honey was used. In practice spirits were added to the mix to help expedite the healing process. In Brazil this would have been their native spirit cachaca.
2 oz Cachaca
4 1/8 slices of lime
2 teaspoons of sugar
Prep: Place lime and sugar into glass and muddle. Fill glass with crushed ice and add the cachaca.
