The drink reputedly originated at Tujague’s, a landmark bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana, and was invented by its owner, Philip Guichet. The drink gained popularity during the 1950s and 1960s throughout the American South.
- 1.5 oz Crème de Menthe
- 1.5 oz White Crème de Cacao
- 1.5 oz cream
- Garnish: shaved chocolate
- Preparation: Shake ingredients over ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish by shaving chocolate over the top.
