Joe Sheridan was a head chef at the precursor to the Shannon International Airport in Limerick City, Ireland in the 1940s. One cold night he added Irish Whiskey to the coffee of some American passengers and when they asked if they were drinking Brazilian Coffee, he told them it was Irish Coffee.
2 oz Irish whisky
fresh, hot coffee
0.25 oz Demerara Syrup
Garnish: whipped cream
Prep: Warm mug with hot water. Empty mug and add whiskey. Top with coffee and freshly whipped cream.
